Canadian coking coal production rises 10.2 percent in December

According to Statistics Canada, coking coal production reached 205,717 mt in December 2017, up 10.2 percent from the 186,601 mt produced in November. On a year-on-year analysis, production reflected a 12.2 percent increase from the 183,317 mt produced in December 2016.

The supply of coking coal in Canada in December reached 241,365 mt, which represents a 6.9 percent increase from the 225,728 mt of supply in November but a 1.3 percent decrease from the 244,586 mt of supply in December 2016.
