Canadian coking coal production falls 6.8 percent in June

According to Statistics Canada, coking coal production reached 171,746 mt in June 2017, down 6.8 percent from the 184,269 mt produced in June 2016. On a month-on-month analysis, production reflected a 6.7 percent decrease from the 184,168 mt produced in May.

The supply of coking coal in Canada in June reached 243,598 mt, which represents a 1.3 percent decrease from the 246,763 mt of supply in May and a 1.7 percent decrease from the 247,911 mt of supply in June 2016.
