According to Statistics Canada, coking coal production reached 183,797 mt in September 2017, up 0.7 percent from the 182,512 mt produced in August. On a year-on-year analysis, production reflected a 4.3 percent increase from the 176,301 mt produced in September 2016.
The supply of coking coal in Canada in September reached 227,975 mt, which represents a 13.6 percent decrease from the 263,996 mt of supply in August and a 20.8 percent increase from the 188,686 mt of supply in September 2016.
