According to Statistics Canada, coking coal production reached 198,149 mt in November 2018, down 6.7 percent from the 212,294 mt produced in October. On a year-on-year analysis, coking coal production was up 6.2 percent from the 186,601 mt reported in November 2017.
The supply of coking coal in Canada in November reached 264,591 mt, which represents a 2.4 percent increase from the 258,387 mt of supply in October, and a 2.4 percent increase from the 225,728 mt of supply in November 2017.
