Canadian coking coal production down 5.3 percent in April

According to Statistics Canada, coking coal production reached 195,099 mt in April 2018, down 5.3 percent from the 206,060 mt produced in March. On a year-on-year analysis, coking coal production was up 10.8 percent from the 176,094 mt reported in April 2017.

The supply of coking coal in Canada in April reached 302,015 mt, which represents a 14.6 percent increase from the 263,574 mt of supply in March, and a 21.6 percent increase from the 248,412 mt of supply in April 2017.
