Canadian coking coal production down 13.3 percent in July

According to Statistics Canada, coking coal production reached 210,930 mt in July 2018, down 13.3 percent from the 243,245 mt produced in June. On a year-on-year analysis, coking coal production was up 14.6 percent from the 184,114 mt reported in July 2017.

The supply of coking coal in Canada in July reached 246,203 mt, which represents a 0.6 percent decrease from the 247,565 mt of supply in June, but a 2.5 percent increase from the 240,246 mt of supply in July 2017.
