Canadian coking coal production down 1.3 percent in September

According to Statistics Canada, coking coal production reached 208,673 mt in September 2018, down 1.3 percent from the 211,414 mt produced in August. On a year-on-year analysis, coking coal production was up 13.5 percent from the 183,797 mt reported in September 2017.

The supply of coking coal in Canada in September reached 236,895 mt, which represents a 15.2 percent decrease from the 279,379 mt of supply in August, and a 3.9 percent increase from the 227,975 mt of supply in September 2017.
