The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) has announced preliminary dumping and subsidy margins in its investigation regarding rebar imports from China, South Korea and Turkey. The CBSA decided that rebar imports from China, South Korea and Turkey have been dumped and subsidized, and that there is a reasonable indication that such dumping and subsidizing has caused and is threatening to cause injury to the Canadian industry.

The CBSA has set preliminary dumping margins of 2.3 percent for China, 8.9 percent for South Korea and 5.6 percent for Turkey, while the preliminary subsidy margins are 4.3 percent for China, 14.6 percent for South Korea and 18.7 percent for Turkey.

The preliminary injury investigation initiated upon the complaint by Canadian producers Alta Steel Inc., ArcelorMittal LCNA and Gerdau Longsteel North America covers the period between January 1, 2013 and March 31, 2014.
