An individual decision by a member of the court of justice in the state of Minas Gerais has suspended the blockage of the equivalent to $71 million, which was imposed last week to the Brazilian flat steel producer Usiminas.

The blockage was imposed by the public attorney of the state, due to accusations of continuous aggressive procedures, in relation to the environment, by the administration of the Ipatinga plant.

The suspension was granted as a cautionary measure, until the final judgement of an appeal requested by Usiminas.

Usiminas added that the blockage of $71 million was not expected to interfere with its regular activities, as it has in treasury more than the equivalent to $1.0 billion.
