Brazilian civil construction activity rises in October

Brazilian civil construction activity in October this year rose to 46.9 points from 40 points in October 2016, on a scale from zero to 100, in which values above 50 show growth, according to the country’s confederation of industries, CNI.

Activity in the local civil construction sector in October also rose on a month-on-month basis, from 46.4 points in September.

The utilization of the industry’s capacity in October improved to 59 percent from 56 percent in the same month of the year prior and from 58 percent in September this year.

The indicator that measures the number of job positions in the segment grew to 43.1 points in October this year, from 37.7 points in October 2016, but dropped from 45.2 points in September this year.
