The Brazilian ministry of industry, foreign trade and services (MDIC) said this week it has started an investigation over the Indian imports of grinding parts of cast iron as well as chromium alloyed steel with a chromium content between 17.6 and 22 percent.

MDIC said the probe will determine whether the Indian imported product received subsidies, adding that there are sufficient elements that indicate Indian producers receive subsidies to export the product to Brazil.

The probe follows a request from Brazilian producer Magotteaux.
