Brazil’s chamber of foreign trade, Camex, has ended an investigation and decided to impose a definite anti-dumping (AD) duty over the Indian imports of cast, chromium-bonded steel grinding parts used in rolling mills.

According to a notice published at the country’s official gazette, Diario Oficial da Uniao, the duties reach 9.8 percent for AIA Engineering Limited Welcast Steels Ltd and 37.8 percent for all other Indian producers and exporters.

The AD duties cover a five-year period. The product subject to the levies falls under the Mercosur HTS code 7325.91.00, including products with a 17.6 to 22 percent chromium content, or with a diameter of between 57 to 64mm, among other characteristics.

The investigation and the decision to impose the duties follow a request from local producer Magotteaux Brasil Ltda.
