The Brazilian Ministry of Economy, along with the local chamber of foreign trade, Camex, ended an investigation and decided not to impose antidumping (AD) duties on HRC imports from Russia and China, according to a document filing.

Brazil had initially imposed in January 2018 AD duties over the imports of HRC from China and Russia for five years, however decided to “suspend” the duties for one year, as previously reported by SteelOrbis.

Camex said that due to public interest reasons it suspended the imposition of AD duties over the imports of HRC from China and Russia, arguing that Brazilian imports of HRC from those two countries had been declining even before the first AD investigations took place, and the trend has since continued.
