BHP Steel Limited intends to change its name

Following the demerger from BHP Billiton almost a year ago, BHP Steel was licensed to use the BHP acronym until June 30, 2004. The requests by BHP Steel for further use of this acronym have recently been down turned by BHP Billiton. For this reason BHP Steel Limited (BSL) is preparing to change its name in the 2003-04 year. Currently, the company is developing strategies for transition to a new name.
