Australian miner BHP Billiton has announced that the recent extreme weather across the central Queensland coalfields has impacted production from BHP Billiton Mitsubishi Alliance (BMA) operations.

The company is currently continuing to assess the full impact of the weather and is working to achieve a safe resumption of operations; in the meantime, coal processing and the loading of vessels will be delayed.

After its assessment has been completed, the company will inform clients on the return to full operations and production, and on the lifting of force majeure.
