London-listed Bellzone Mining has announced that it has started loading of the first iron ore barge shipment for the Forécariah joint venture in the Republic of Guinea, West Africa, at the port at Konta.

The barge shipment will transport the iron ore to the transshipping Panamax vessel, FGM Iron,
located approximately 15 km off the coast. The first shipment to international customers is anticipated at the end of third quarter of 2012.

As SteelOrbis previously reported, on May 21 this year Bellzone gained approval from the government of Guinea to commence production at the Forecariah iron ore joint venture.
