Baosteel to spin off its subsidiary Baowu Carbon Technology

Major Chinese steelmaker, listed company Baoshan Iron and Steel Co., Ltd has announced that it plans to spin off its subsidiary Baowu Carbon Technology to be listed on the stock exchange.

After the spinoff, Baosteel will still hold the controlling stake in Baowu Carbon. The funds raised via the stock exchange listing will be used in projects for new carbon-based materials.
