Major Chinese steelmaker Baosteel has issued its prices for carbon steel flat products for delivery in March this year.
The producer has decided to raise its local base prices by RMB 100/mt ($14/mt) for hot rolled coil (HRC), steel plate, acid pickling plate, cold rolled coil (CRC), hot dip galvanized (HDG), galvalume, medium-aluminum zinc aluminum magnesium, high-aluminum zinc aluminum magnesium and non-grain-oriented silicon steel, while raising local base prices for pre-painted galvanized iron (PPGI) by RMB 50/mt ($7/mt), though keeping local base prices for grain-oriented silicon steel stable, all for delivery in March.
The demand for steel from downstream users is anticipated to improve in March, which will bolster steel prices.
