Average HRB 400 rebar price in China up 0.7 percent in late April

In late April (April 21-30) this year, the average prices in China of 16-25 mm HRB 400 rebar, 6.5 mm HPB 300 wire rod, 20 mm Q235 common medium plate and 3 mm Q235 hot rolled sheet were respectively recorded at RMB 4,165.2/mt ($613.4/mt), RMB 4,273.9/mt ($629.4/mt), RMB 4,165.4/mt ($613.5/mt) and RMB 4,110.4/mt ($605.4/mt), up RMB 28.0/mt ($4.1/mt), RMB 18.9/mt ($2.8/mt), RMB 16.4/mt ($2.4/mt) and RMB 10.1/mt ($1.5/mt), i.e., rising by 0.7 percent, 0.4 percent, 0.4 percent and 0.2 percent, compared to prices in mid-April (April 11-20), as announced by China’s National Bureau of Statistics.

In the given period, the average prices in China of 219 mm x 6 mm seamless pipes and 5 mm x 5 mm angles were recorded at RMB 4,855.4/mt ($715.1/mt) and RMB 4,222.3/mt ($621.8/mt), down RMB 7.7/mt ($1.4/mt) and RMB 16.7/mt ($2.5/mt), i.e., decreasing by 0.2 percent and 0.4 percent, compared to prices in mid-April (April 11-20).
