Average HRB 400 rebar price in China down 0.2 percent in late December

In late December (December 21-31) last year, the average prices in China of 16-25 mm HRB 400 rebar and 6.5 mm HPB 300 wire rod were respectively recorded at RMB 3,919.0/mt ($564.8/mt) and RMB 4,032.8/mt ($581.1/mt), decreasing by RMB 8.7/mt ($1.3/mt) and RMB 10.5/mt ($1.5/mt), i.e., down by 0.2 percent and 0.3 percent, while prices of 20 mm Q235 common medium plate, 3 mm Q235 hot rolled sheet, 219 mm x 6 mm seamless pipes and 5 mm x 5 mm angles were respectively recorded at RMB 3,870.7/mt ($557.7/mt), RMB 3,874.3/mt ($558.3/mt), RMB 4,288.0/mt ($617.9/mt) and RMB 4,188.8/mt ($603.6/mt), up RMB 5.2/mt ($0.7/mt), RMB 14.4/mt ($2.1/mt), RMB 0.6/mt ($0.08/mt) and RMB 23.2/mt ($3.4/mt), i.e., increasing by 0.1 percent, 0.4 percent, 0.0 percent and 0.6 percent, respectively, all compared to prices in mid-December (December 11-20), as announced by China’s National Bureau of Statistics.
