Australia imposes AD duty on certain wire rope imports from South Africa

Monday, 18 December 2017 12:24:21 (GMT+3)   |   Istanbul

Australia’s Antidumping Commission has announced that it has decided to impose a definitive antidumping (AD) duty on imports of alloy or non-alloy stranded wire rope from South Africa.

The commission has decided that the amount of the export price of the goods is less than their normal values and the dumped goods have materially injured the Australian wire rope industry. Accordingly, the commission has calculated a final dumping margin of 39.7 percent for all exporters from South Africa.

The investigation was launched in April this year upon a complaint lodged by Australian wire rope producer Bekaert Wire Ropes Pty Ltd.

The goods subject to antidumping duty currently fall under Customs Tariff Statistics Position Number 7312.10.00.
