According to its data issued for the first quarter of 2010, Russian steel producer Ashinskiy Metallurgical Works (Ashinskiy) registered a 51.1 percent increase year on year in its steel output to 170,131 mt, including 163,429 mt of slabs - up 53.3 percent year on year.
In January-March 2010, Ashinskiy produced 152,283 mt of finished steel - up 28.9 percent compared to the same period last year.
In addition, in Q1 this year Ashinskiy's sales of steel plates increased by 30.1 percent year on year to 130,022 mt. Of this figure, 102,232 mt of plates were delivered to the Russian domestic market - up 90.7 percent year on year, 24,538 mt were exported to non-CIS countries, and 3,252 mt were delivered to CIS countries.
