Argentina's Siderar posts decreased net profit in Q4

Argentinian steelmaker Ternium Siderar saw its net profit in Q4 decline 10.1 percent, year-on-year, to ARS 848.1 million ($42.5 million), the company said while releasing its quarterly results.

Steel sales volumes in Q4 rose to 646,700 mt, from 588,000 mt in the same quarter of the year prior. Out of the company’s total steel shipments, 607,300 mt was destined to the domestic market, while 39,300 went to the export market in Q4.

Siderar’s net revenue in Q4 was ARS 10.8 billion ($544.7 million), 40 percent up, year-on-year.

As for the full year of 2017, Siderar posted a net profit of ARS 5.5 billion ($279 million), 50.3 percent up, year-on-year.
