The Ukrainian steelmaker ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih, an affiliate of steel giant ArcelorMittal, has recommissioned its blast furnace No. 5 with a production capacity of 1.2 million mt of pig iron per year.

The BF No. 5 was shut down in August 2008 for a scheduled overhaul, which was completed in October. Nevertheless, due to the decreased demand for pig iron management at ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih decided to delay the recommissioning of the blast furnace.
