ArcelorMittal ships 3 million mt of iron ore from Liberia in Jan-Aug

Global steel giant ArcelorMittal has announced that it shipped 3 million mt of iron ore from its Liberia operations between January 1 and August 8 of the current year, almost doubling last year's figures for the same period. In July, the company shipped 516,000 mt of iron ore, tripling compared to 175,138 mt in the same month of the previous year.
 
ArcelorMittal stated that it is now on track to produce 4.5 million mt of iron ore in 2013, above the annual production target of 4 million mt.
 
The company is currently implementing phase two of its iron ore operations which will ramp up production to 15 million mt a year by 2015.
