ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih’s crude steel output up 4% in January-May

In the first five months of the current year, the crude steel production of ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih, Ukrainian subsidiary of global steel giant ArcelorMittal, totaled 2.58 million mt, up four percent year on year, as announced by the company. Its pig iron production in the given period increased by 4.6 percent to 2.28 million mt, while its finished steel output rose by 4.4 percent to 2.27 million mt, both compared to the same period of the previous year.

Meanwhile, in May alone, crude steel production at ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih amounted to 561,200 mt, down 7.5 percent, output of finished steel decreased by 5.9 percent to 491,300 mt and production of pig iron fell by 6.1 percent to 496,400 mt, all year on year.
