ArcelorMittal commissions a new cold formed mill in Romania

The tubular products division of the global steel giant ArcelorMittal announced that it has commissioned a new cold formed mill in Iasi, Romania. The new line with an annual capacity of 120,000 mt per year was built in order to increase efficiency and reduce costs to provide services for the domestic and regional markets.

ArcelorMittal Tubular Products Iasi is the largest producer of longitudinal welded steel tubes in Romania. The new line can produce circular welded tubes with a size range from 60.3 mm to 193.7 mm and 50 x 50 mm up to 150 x 150 mm square welded tubes with a wall thickness from 2.00 to 10.00 mm

According to the company statement, with the new mill coming into operation, six high cost and outdated lines will be decommissioned
