Annual inflation rate in Turkey reaches 18.71 percent in May

According to the statistics released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in May the consumer price index (CPI) for Turkish industry in general increased by 0.95 percent month on month, while annual inflation reached 18.71 percent.

Among the main product groups, the highest month-on-month increase was seen in the alcoholic beverages and tobacco group with 8.8 percent, while the highest year-on-year increase was registered in food and non-alcoholic beverages with 28.44 percent.
