Lansing, Michigan-based Alro Steel Corporation, a steel service center with more than 40 locations in 12 states, Monday announced it has reached a settlement with federal regulators over a complaint filed by the US Environmental Protection Agency.  According to the complaint, Alro Steel Corp. had failed to notify state and local authorities that hydrogen, acrylic enamels, propane, and acetylene was being stored at four of its plant locations.  Federal law requires disclosures of hazardous materials storage in case emergency personnel need to be dispatched to a location due to a fire, explosion, or other emergency situations.   Alro Steel Corporation has agreed to pay a $120,000 fine for the oversight.
