Algerian Qatari Steel (AQS) is about to receive its second directly-reduced pellet cargo originating in Brazil. The lot is of the same volume as the previous one, delivered on November 10, which totaled 54,000 mt, SteelOrbis has learned. As a result, so far the company has secured three cargoes of DR pellets with the first one of Canadian origin discharged in the first half of September.

AQS is currently conducting hot trials at its new EAF with a capacity of 1.1 million mt, as SteelOrbis reported earlier. The company is getting ready to launch its 2.5 million mt per year DRI-module by the end of the current year.
