AK Steel will present counterproposal

Negotiators from AK Steel and the Armco Employees Independent Federation (AEIF) have agreed to meet at 1pm Wednesday, the 22nd day of the union has been locked out of Middletown Works after the expiration of their contract. AK will present a counterproposal to AEIF's most recent contract proposal, offered March 7. The last meeting between the two sides was March 14. This session was not to discuss contract negotiations, but to discuss profit-sharing benefits. Employees will not receive profit-sharing benefits until a dispute over the calculation of the benefits is resolved.
