AK Steel announced Q2 financial results

Middletown-based AK Steel has recently announced financial results regarding second quarter ended on June 30, 2004. According to the report released by the company, net income in the second quarter is recorded as $92.7 million against the net loss of $78.2 million recorded in the corresponding period of previous quarter. The company reported an operating profit of $56.4 million in the second quarter against operating loss of $115.2 million recorded in the same period of 2003. Net sales of the company in the second quarter of 2004 increased to $1.311 billion on shipments of 1'565'100 tons, up by 34% and %12 when compared with the net sales of $981.3 million recorded on shipments of 1'399'000 tons in the corresponding period of previous fiscal year.
