On June 16, British mineral exploration and development company Affero Mining announced that its new mineral resource estimate for its Nkout iron ore mine has increased by 36 percent to 1.42 billion metric tons at 33.6 percent Fe. Affero Mining fully owns the southern Cameroon-based Nkout Iron ore project. The estimate has been improved after less than four months of work since the initial resource estimate.

"Subsequent resource estimates later this year are expected to show an increase in the resource whilst identifying further oxidized material," Afferro chief executive Luis da Silva said in a statement.
