In order to complete the installation of a filter, Italian steelmaker Acciaierie d’Italia will suspend the operation of its blast furnace No.1 at the Taranto site (formerly Ilva Taranto).

In the month of August, the erection of the fourth Meros filter will be completed at the sinter plant of the Taranto unit, Acciaierie d’Italia stated in a press release. “For this reason, the sinter plant will have a sensitive reduction of its operation levels in the production of the necessary charge for the three blast furnaces. The operation of the blast furnace No. 1 will be suspended in the month of August until the end of the erection of the Meros filter in the sinter plant.”
