Turkey’s hollow section market has seen another price decline over the past week in both the domestic and export segments. The ongoing weakness of the hot rolled coil (HRC) market, coupled with the uncertain outlook in the scrap market, has left pipe manufacturers with no choice but to follow the downward trend. According to market sources, despite the latest price drops, activity in the domestic market has slowed further due to the upcoming Eid holiday. This slowdown is expected to continue in the export market in the coming month as the summer period arrives and demand typically weakens.
Currently, domestic hollow section prices in Turkey have decreased by $10/mt week on week to $630-640/mt ex-works. One of the major mills has quoted prices as low as $590/mt ex-works, while medium-sized producers are offering at around $630-640/mt ex-works.
Export offers have also softened, falling from last week’s $620-640/mt FOB to $620-630/mt FOB this week.
