Buying activity in the Romanian seamless pipe market is minimal due to the summer holidays in Europe. In this situation, Romanian suppliers have managed to keep their seamless pipe prices unchanged over the past month, though prices in US dollar terms have surged by $24-26/mt during the same period amid currency fluctuations.
Consuming industries in the Romanian market are expected to remain weak due to the difficult economic conditions in the country, while overseas buying may start to revive in September when end-user demand improves.
Romanian domestic quotations of 3"-10" seamless pipes made to ASTM or EN are at about €880-900/mt ($1,161-1,188/mt) delivered, excluding 24 percent VAT.
Export offers of 3"-14" seamless pipes of grade B made to ASTM A106/API 5L are being given by ArcelorMittal Roman to the external markets at around €900-960/mt ($1,188-1,267/mt) FCA, while 18"-20" pipes are at about €1,350-1,360/mt ($1,782-1,795/mt) FCA, all for September production.
Import offers of 3"-4 seamless pipes from the Czech Republic (ArcelorMittal) of grade B as per API 5L are being given to the Romanian market at €970-980/mt ($1,280-1,294/mt) CPT.
