Upward movement still continues to be observed in the Romanian seamless pipe market. Despite still slack buying activity, domestic offers of locally produced seamless pipes have moved up by €20-40/mt ($27-54/mt) on the back of costlier raw materials, while export quotations have increased by €40-50/mt ($54-68/mt) over the past month. However, market players believe that a further increase in quotations is unlikely. On the contrary, Romanian suppliers may grant discounts amid ongoing slackness of demand in all sales outlets and the negative outlook in the raw material segment.
Romanian domestic quotations of 3"-10" seamless pipes made to ASTM or EN are at about €900-940/mt ($1,224-1,278/mt) delivered, excluding 24 percent VAT.
Export offers of 3"-10" seamless pipes of grade B made to ASTM A106/API 5L are being given by ArcelorMittal Roman to the external markets at around €960-970/mt ($1,306-1,319/mt) FCA, 16' pipes are at levels of €1,080-1,100/mt ($1,469-1,496/mt) FCA, while 18"-20" pipes are at about €1,400-1,420/mt ($1,904-1,931/mt) FCA, all for October-November production.
Import offers of 3"-4 seamless pipes from the Czech Republic (ArcelorMittal) of grade B as per ASTM A106 are being given to the Romanian market at €990-1,010/mt ($1,346-1,374/mt) CPT.
