The Romanian seamless pipe market has seen no changes over the past month. Domestic demand for seamless pipes in Romania remains poor amid the crisis in end-user sectors, while foreign buyers are reducing purchases as the end of the year approaches. Prices for commodity-grade seamless pipes in Romania have remained unchanged in the past month against the backdrop of a lack of activity in the domestic and export markets.
Market participants do not expect to see any pick-up in demand over the remainder of the year, and seamless pipe prices in Romania may be exposed to downside risks in the short-term period on the back of continuing slow demand across the region.
Romanian domestic quotations of 3"-10" seamless pipes made to ASTM or EN are at about €900-930/mt ($1,214-1,255/mt) delivered, excluding 24 percent VAT.
Export offers of 3"-10" seamless pipes of grade B made to ASTM A106/API 5L are being given by ArcelorMittal Roman to the external markets at around €960-970/mt ($1,295-1,309/mt) FCA, 16" pipes are at levels of €1,080-1,100/mt ($1,457-1,484/mt) FCA, while 18"-20" pipes are at about €1,400-1,420/mt ($1,889-1,916/mt) FCA, all for November-December production.
Import offers of 3"-4" seamless pipes from the Czech Republic (ArcelorMittal) of grade B as per ASTM A106 are being given to the Romanian market at €990-1,010/mt ($1,336-1,363/mt) CPT.
