The Polish welded pipe market has continued to weaken due to feeble demand from consuming industries amid limited investments. As a result, local buyers are keeping stocks at minimal levels, making bookings just to cover urgent needs. Domestic prices of Polish welded pipes have moved down by around €20/mt ($27/mt) over the past month due to poor buying sentiment and lower feedstock quotations. In addition, suppliers are still ready to grant discounts in case of deals. Import offers of Bulgarian welded pipes have declined by €10-20/mt ($13-27/mt) over the period in question, though quotations of Italian material have gone up by €20-30/mt ($27-40/mt). Market players remain rather pessimistic about further developments, seeing no reasons for market conditions to improve in the short term against a background of low demand and scant summer activity.
Current domestic quotations of locally produced square and rectangular hollow sections with 2-4 mm wall thickness made from S235 JRH grade hot rolled coil (HRC) according to EN 10219 are in the range of €560-580/mt ($743-770/mt) ex-works, exclusive of 23 percent VAT.
Quotations of Italian black welded pipes of 2"-6" size with wall thickness of 2.0-4.0 mm as per EN 10219 made from S235JR grade HRC to the Polish market are at the level of €630-650/mt ($836-863/mt) CPT on actual weight basis.
Offers of Bulgarian ERW pipes and hollow sections of 2-5 mm wall thickness made from S235JR grade HRC as per EN 10219 to Polish customers are standing at an average of €540-560/mt ($717-743/mt) CPT on theoretical weight basis.
