The Polish welded pipe market is characterized by weak demand and soft prices. Domestic prices of Polish welded pipes have moved down by around €10/mt ($13/mt) over the past month against a backdrop of falling raw material costs and stagnant demand from consuming industries. Import offers of Bulgarian welded pipes have declined by €10-40/mt ($13-51/mt) over the period in question, though quotations of Italian material have remained stable in euro terms, but have declined by $27-28/mt in US dollar terms. Market players believe market conditions are unlikely to improve in the July-August period. Welded pipe suppliers in Poland may try to raise their prices in September at the earliest, considering the low buying activity in summer due to the holiday season.
Current domestic quotations of locally produced square and rectangular hollow sections with 2-4 mm wall thickness made from S235 JRH grade hot rolled coil (HRC) according to EN 10219 are in the range of €550-580/mt ($704-742/mt) ex-works, exclusive of 23 percent VAT.
Quotations of Italian black welded pipes of 2"-6" size with wall thickness of 2.0-4.0 mm as per EN 10219 made from S235JR grade HRC to the Polish market are at the level of €630-650/mt ($806-832/mt) CPT on actual weight basis.
Offers of Bulgarian ERW pipes and hollow sections of 2-5 mm wall thickness made from S235JR grade HRC as per EN 10219 to Polish customers are standing at an average of €500-550/mt ($640-704/mt) CPT on theoretical weight basis.
