Mexican conduit pipe prices stabilize after mid-month drop

Prices for Mexican welded conduit pipe welded (size 115 mm and smaller) registered nearly homogeneous behavior during February, closing with an average price of US$868/mt ex-mill. The biggest decline of the month was in the second week, when prices fell US$14/mt to US$855/mt ex-mill.

According to the National Chamber of Industry Iron and Steel (CANACERO), production of conduit pipes in 2012 reached 160,549 tons, down 6.3 percent compared to 2011's total of 171,305 tons.
