The CIS export market for seamless pipes is generally stable ahead of the New Year holidays. Export offers of Ukrainian producers have remained unchanged over the past month. Russian manufacturer Uraltrubostal has cut its export prices by around $40/mt over the same period, while export quotations of seamless pipes from TMK Group have remained unchanged. Market participants believe export quotations will stay at the current levels in the coming period amid stable production costs and moderate export demand. However, CIS producers expect to see greater purchasing activity from foreign buyers in February and March, which will allow them to push prices up.
Export prices from Ukrainian mill Interpipe for January-February production hot-formed seamless pipes of 42-159 mm diameter as per GOST or ASTM, currently vary in the range of $970-1,000/mt FOB, while quotations of pipes of 168-273 mm diameter are at $1,040-1,060/mt FOB.
Duferco is offering seamless pipes (Dnepropetrovsk Tube Works, Ukraine) of 60-168 mm diameter as per GOST at around $1,090-1,100/mt FOB from January production, while pipes of 42-48 mm diameter are quoted at $1,120-1,130/mt FOB.
Export offers of January-February production seamless hot-formed pipes with diameter of 57-245 mm made to GOST or ASTM from Russian producer TMK's subsidiary Volzhsky Pipe Plant are at $1,030-1,050/mt FOB, while quotations of seamless pipes with diameters up to 425 mm are at $1,100-1,110/mt FOB. Export offers of seamless pipes with 57-425 mm diameter, made to DIN or EN, from Volzhsky PP are at $1,340-1,360/mt FOB.
Seamless pipes with 60-219 mm diameter as per GOST or ASTM from Tagmet (TMK Group) are quoted in the range of $1,070-1,080/mt FOB for January-February production.
Seamless hot-formed pipes with diameter of 73-168 mm made to GOST from Sinarsky PP are quoted at $1,180-1,200/mt FOB, while offers of seamless pipes as per ASTM are at $1,300-1,320/mt FOB.
Export offers of Russian seamless pipes of 33-219 mm diameter, made to GOST, ex Uraltrubostal (Pervouralsky Novotrubny Works) are at $1,000-1,050/mt FOB, for January-February output.
