While Turkish steel mills’ demand for deep sea scrap has almost come to a halt, most Turkish mills are not showing demand for short sea scrap either, though it is obserrved that a few steel mills have concluded new deals. Although some deals for Russian A3 grade scrap in Turkey were heard at $360/mt CFR at the beginning of this week, a Turkish steelmaker is currently heard to be targeting $355/mt CFR for the same grade.

On the other hand, an ex-Adriatic HMS I/II 80:20 scrap deal in Turkey has been concluded at $353/mt CFR, while a Romanian A3 grade scrap booking has been made at $355/mt CFR.
