India’s domestic DRI prices soften

On March 14, SteelOrbis reported Indian domestic DRI prices down at INR 18,500-18,900/mt ($267-272/mt) ex-Raipur.

Sources inform SteelOrbis that prices are now reportedly at INR 18,400-18,700/mt ($266-270/mt) ex-Raipur, down $1/mt from the bottom of the previous range and $2/mt from the top of the same range. A source noted that offer prices sought to increase over the past two weeks but that the low level of trades dampened offers to present levels. Additionally, prices in the eastern India region of Durgapur are noted as trending only INR 100/mt higher at INR 18,500-18,800/mt ($267-271/mt) ex-works, up $1/mt higher in comparison to the Raipur region.
