German scrap prices gain momentum in March

According to the latest figures provided by German steel scrap recycler association (BDSV), in the first 20 days of March steel scrap prices in Germany surpassed the levels seen in February. Meanwhile, in March this year many categories were close to the price levels recorded in the same month of 2011.

*Average prices for domestic transactions all across Germany in the first 20 days of the given month. Prices are provided by Bundesvereinigung Deutscher Stahlrecycling- und Entsorgungsunternehmen e.V. (BDSV).

Specifications:

1-Old steel scrap: thickness ≥ 4 mm, maximum dimensions 1.50 m x 0.50 m x0.50 m

2/8-New steel scrap: maximum dimensions 1.50 m x 0.50 x 0.50 m

3-Heavy old steel scrap: thickness ≥ 6 mm, maximum dimensions 1.50 m x 0.50 m x0.50 m

4-Shredded scrap: excluding incinerator steel scrap and collection scrap, density ≥ 1.1 mt/m³, Fe≥92 percent.

5-Turnings: excluding iron and automatic steel turnings
