Demand for ex-CIS pig iron is still at low levels. On the other hand, pig iron offers from the CIS region to the export markets have indicated an upward trend during the past week amid the rises seen in global iron ore prices in the previous weeks and due to the upward movement recorded in Chinese billet prices in the current week. Accordingly, ex-CIS pig iron offers to the export markets have increased by $10/mt week on week to $250-255/mt FOB.
