The Brazilian producers are negotiating wire rod of the mesh grade for export in a FOB range of $610/mt to $620/mt, a local exporter told SteelOrbis.

The price compares with $600/mt over the last weeks, possibly reflecting uncertainties regarding perspectives of barriers for exports to the US.

In January, Brazil exported a record 53,000mt of wire rod, of which 22,700mt to the US.

ArcelorMittal exported wire rod in January at $616/mt and Gerdau at $559/mt, FOB conditions, with price deals probably closed in November.
