Turkish mill Kardemir updates rebar and billet prices

With its new price list dated August 12, 2009, Turkish steel producer Kardemir has updated its domestic sales prices for rebar and billets.

Accordingly, Kardemir today opened its domestic sales for 12-22 mm diameter rebar at the price level of TRY 879.10/mt ($491/mt + VAT) ex-works and including 18 percent VAT, for 1,000 mt and above orders, with 25 percent on cash payment basis, with 25 percent each on 30-day, 60-day and 90-day deferred payment basis, and with no interest accruing due to payment deferral. The producer's rebar prices were at the level of TRY 820.22/mt ex-works, including 18 percent, in its price list dated August 3.

Meanwhile, as per its new price list dated August 12, 2009, Kardemir has opened its billet sales for S235JR grade (St 37) billets of 130 mm x 130 mm x 6-12 m size at the level of $460/mt ex-works, excluding VAT, and has also opened billet sales for MT III-A grade billets of the same size at the level of $463/mt ex-works, excluding VAT. In its price list dated August 6, the producer's billet prices of S235JR grade (St 37) billets of 130 mm x 130 mm x 6-12 m size were at $440/mt ex-works, excluding VAT, while its prices for MT III-A grade billets of the same size were at $443/mt ex-works, excluding VAT.
