In the past week,Turkish domestic merchant bar prices have fallen by TRY 270-275/mt the Izmir and Denizli region amid the negative sentiment in the import scrap and billet segment, while rising by TRY 27,5-117,5/mt in the rest of the country against the backdrop of Turkish lira depreciation against US dollar. On US dollar basis merchant bar prices have fallen by $5-28/mt over the same period.
Most merchant bar sellers are offering for August-Early September delivery and only limited tonnages are available from stocks. Sources report that official HEA/HEB (100-200 mm, standard) prices have also decreased by $30/mt to $1,020-1,050/mt ex-works.
