Over the past week, Turkish merchant bar producers have mainly kept their merchant bar prices unchanged in the local currency with minor changes on US dollar basis, amid the ongoing depreciation of the Turkish lira against US dollar and sluggish demand, while only rising by TRY 250/mt ($4/mt) in the Iskenderun region as the merchant bar prices in this region had been somewhat lower than in the rest of the country last week and increased in the Iskenderun region at the end of last week.
One Iskenderun-based mill has issued its equal angle price at TRY 26,550/mt ($612/mt) ex-works today.
Most merchant bar sellers are still offering either for deliveries in February-early March or from stocks, depending on the size.
One Marmara-based mill has already stopped its merchant bar production line this week, SteelOrbis has heard.
